# Owned runtime hooks

> Register an injector hook and cancel only the subscription owned by your instance.

When your integration configures an already ready FLEX injector, give the hook
registration the same owner signal as your component:

```javascript theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
function configurePreloadPolicy(injector, effects) {
    const release = injector.registerInjectorHooks({
        shouldSkipBackgroundPreload: () => true,
    }, { signal: effects.signal });
    return release;
}
```

The release function is safe to call repeatedly. Disposing `effects` removes this
registration; another component's registration remains active. The latest active
registration supplies the override. Hooks must return synchronously with the
declared type. Invalid, asynchronous or recursive decisions use the core default.
They do not authorize application data changes. Use your namespaced lifecycle
guard for a veto and enforce server authorization on the save path.
